Our Spring Break

Usually spring break is a busy time for Art being that all the kids are out of school he can do more work crews. So we usually don't do much for spring break a couple years ago we went over to Mesa Verde and looked at the ruins. We live relatively close to lots of things so we really don't have an excuse not to do things more so we decided that we would go and do something on the last day of spring break. Art took the day off on Friday and off we went. Ashley decided that since the last time we went to newspaper rock was when she was in mommies tummy that it would be fun to go see it. Newspaper rock is about an hour and a half from downtown Monticello but still it took us 8 years to go back. The last time was when Crystal was 8 months pregnant with Ashley and we went with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson and hiked around "yuck". So we stopped got our soda and bugs and off we went. Ashley took our old digital camera since we got a new one for Christmas and wanted to document the trip. The following is a self portrait she took.

She had alot of fun taking pictures of everything and did a really good job at documenting the trip even took some as we were going down the road. Here is another one of the rock.
We ended our trip by going to Needles State Park and looking at the wooden shoe arch. We also went down the see elephant hill but didn't make it before it was time to turn back and head home. Can you spot the Wooden Shoe Arch??

Tuff hiking around at Newspaper Rock.We stopped along the way to hike into a Indian grain storage ruin. The kids liked it and Kyleigh walked all the way in. But as you can see she didn't walk out.
